Formy 3D Drawing Doll for Blender

“Formy – 3D Drawing Helper” is a 3D model made for Blender to help Artists when drawing 2D characters. It started as a DAZ Studio model, then a Unity app and finally made its way into Blender. This is the current, most up-to-date version of Formy.

It is highly recommended that you learn a bit about using Blender in order to maximize your use of Formy. However please do not be discouraged – using Formy requires only the absolute basics of Blender.

Formy is a 3D model with a standard Human proportion, made out of basic 3D shapes. These shapes can be adjusted to add dynamism to the forms, as well as move, rotate and scale them as you need. With this 3D model, you can dial in the shape of your desired character and pose it – to have a ready set of forms to sketch/draw over.

Formy is not limited to just Human forms, although it starts from it. From realistic proportions to stylized characters to fantasy creatures to even machines.

While this is not the fastest and most efficient way to draw for professionals – Formy is intended to help out in scenarios where the Artist is struggling with the drawing, either due to the pose being super-complex, lack of available references or just for beginners in their craft.
